|
The Whidbey Camano Land Trust will use this grant to acquire 59 acres of nearshore habitat located on the southeast side of Whidbey Island along Saratoga Passage. The project area consists of four parcels that total 33 acres of uplands, 2,000 feet of feeder bluff, 2 streams, and 26 acres of tidelands. Eelgrass, Dungeness crab, pandalid shrimp, and geoduck are found on the project area’s tidelands and outmigrating juvenile salmon use the shoreline as a travel corridor. The primary purpose of this project is to conserve high-priority, Puget Sound marine shoreline habitats.
