    Project Description    
The project will provide designs (preliminary through final), cost estimates, and permitting for the removal of approximately 325 linear feet of riprap and fill from the north end of Cornet Bay Day Use Area of Deception Pass State Park, recovering 0.33 acres of beach habitat area. Forage fish spawning has been identified in this area and removal of the armor would result in an increase in availability of spawning habitat. Armor removal would also result in improved nearshore habitat and refugia for juvenile salmonids out-migrating from the Skagit River. Partners: Island County Marine Resources Committee, Northwest Straits Foundation, Washington State Parks. This project will benefit, Chinook, coho, pinks, steelhead, Pacific Sand Lance, and Surf Smelt.
